Activating your eccount
All you need is proof of identity and your home address to activate the News Of The World eccount and Prepaid MasterCard® card. There are no credit checks and no awkward questions to answer.
You can either buy and activate your card online or download the activation form by clicking here. Complete and return it it to the address below, along with the required identity information.

Simply choose from one of the two following options:-
1. Confirm that you’re personally registered with at least two of the following:-
- Home Landline Telephone Number
- Electricity Supply Number
- Full UK Driving Licence Number
- That you’re registered on the Electoral Roll
2. A photocopy of the photo page of your Passport
- All nationalities are welcome. Some older style Passports may require certification – Call Customer Care for an Activation form with details.
A Machine Readable Passport:
A machine readable passport DOES NOT require certification. It has two lines of letters, numbers and chevrons (<<) at the bottom of the photo page similar to this:

A Passport Requiring Certification
If you DO NOT have a machine readable passport, you must get the photocopy certified by ONE of the following:
Post Office Official, Official of Religion, Notary, Elected Counselor, Journalist, Lecturer, Accountant, Optician, Teacher, Police Officer, Paramedic, MP, Chemist, Doctor, Solicitor, Trade Union Officer, Social Worker, Librarian, Nurse, Travel Agency, Surveyor, (SRN or SEN), (qualified), Dentist, Officer of Armed Services, Fire Service, Permanent Civil Commissioner, Official Servant of Oaths, Director, manager, Personnel officer of a limited company
The certification must read:
I certify that this is a true likeness to <ADD YOUR FULL NAME HERE>
Signed by <ADD THEIR FULL NAME, SIGNATURE, DAYTIME CONTACT NUMBER AND THE DATE>
Other options
If you’re unable to provide the information required, don’t worry, we may still be able to confirm your identity using other documents you may have, such as birth or marriage certificates, utility bills or benefits entitlement letters. Please call Customer Care for more details.
When you receive your Prepaid Card through the post, you can retrieve your Card PIN by following the instructions in your Welcome Letter, then just Top-up and it’s ready to use.
Remember, you’ll get £5 FREE when you first Top-up with £10 within fourteen days of receiving your Card.
